Right now our family has Verizon Wireless. We’ve been a happy client for many years. However, there are so many new plans that are less expensive and we do pay a lot for our phone service. We pay over $300 for 5 phones. Two of those lines have a $30 data charge and one has a $10 data charge. the other tow are basic lines. We share 2000 minutes and unlimited text.
I’ve been looking around for the lowest price rate plan and found that the Walmart Family Mobile plan fits the bill. The Walmart Family Mobile have two plans to choose from – $29.88 for unlimited text and talk or $39.88 for unlimited talk, text and web. Additional lines are $24.88 and $34.88. So for the five of us it would be less than $200 a month! That’s a $100 savings! Plus there is no contract to lock you in. You can mix and match for plans if one line does not want web.
Since my mother is looking into this plan when her contract ends in November I headed over to Walmart to see what it was all about. You can see more about my shopping trip on Google+. There are many phones to choose from priced from $29 and up. The lowest priced smartphone is the Concord. The Concord is priced at $79. You can get the latest and greatest phone or you can use your current phone. No need to buy a new phone if you don’t want to just change the sim card.
I ended up buying the Concord and the starter kit. I want to try the plan out for a few month and see how it works. I still have my current plan. I’m no able to make the switch just yet. But we will test this out and hopefully switch over when our contracts end.
Once home after our purchase setting up the phone and activating it was very easy. Must login onto My Family Mobile. Check out what others have to say on twitter #FamilyMobileSaves or #cbias.

Have you switched you plan recently?
I will be switching when my contract is up next year. It’s amazing how much people can save when they do switch.
That looks like it would be great for my teen or for a first phone for a kid. Family mobile is awesome.
That is really cheap for unlimited web, text & phone.
We are doing a trial run with them as well. Excited to test it all out and see how they compare.
I’m interested to see how their coverage compares. Verizon is pricey, but I don’t have dead zones (at least for calls!)
Unlimited plans are definitely the way to go, especially with teens in the family.
We are still with the same plan we have had for years only because we are grandfathered into unlimited data LOL
That is cheap. As my children get older and need a cell phone, we will definitely look in to this.
I am looking to switch once my contract is up. I am jealous of my mother’s cell service. She has had it so long that for 5 phones on her plan she doesn’t even pay $100 a month. I am so happy that I can finally have a great deal like she has!
