Motherhood… The Famous Way…

This is a guest post.

Motherhood can be one of the most challenging experiences in life, it can also be one of the most rewarding which is why there are around 300,000 babies born everyday across the globe. A proportion of those born become instantly famous, as they are the children of some of the biggest names in the world.

Society is focused on celebrity and their every move including pregnancy, birth and their offspring. They maintain their celebrity lifestyle through every scenario and pregnancy and motherhood is no exception. From the lavish celebrations thrown with a little help from showermybaby.co.uk to the outrageous names, they really take the experience of child rearing to another level…

Being Showered with Gifts…

Almost as soon as the famous mother has announced her pregnancy, plans are put in place to celebrate and lavish the mother and unborn baby with gifts and attention.

Celebrity baby showers are no small affair and a number of high profile guests will be in attendance bringing with them gifts worth thousands.

The theme of the party is luxury and elegance; for example, Kim Kardashian’s baby shower was so elaborate that the invitations were music boxes playing a song sang by the father of her child, Kanye West.

The Big Reveal…

A celebrity birth causes intense scrutiny as people frantically try to get a glimpse of a baby that is sure to follow in its famous parents footsteps.

The biggest trend is to arrange a photo shoot with the highest paying publication to reveal the baby to the world. Most infants will have had their first photo shoot by the time they are a few weeks old and the famous mother can expose her fantastic post baby figure.

Jennifer Lopez and then husband Marc Anthony were paid an incredible $5 million for the first pictures of their newborn twins.

A Little Help…

Nannies are usually hired before even the cot is purchased. A celebrity mother would be unable to function without the help of at least one nanny to care for the child when they are working or even sleeping as many famous mothers employ someone to cover the night feeds to prevent the disruption of beauty sleep.

Nannies become a part of the celebrity family and despite many mothers claiming they are ‘hands on’ there is usually at least one person behind the scenes to take over when it all gets too much.

It was reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a team of 12 nannies to help care for their 6 children when they are travelling to different movie sets.

Multiple Deliveries…

Push presents are a craze that began in tinsel town but are gradually working their way through to everyday mothers.

Famous mothers are rewarded with expensive gifts after their baby has been delivered, whether it is jewellery or a car, the father is obligated to show his appreciation by splashing the cash.

Keith Urban gifted wife Nicole Kidman with a diamond encrusted Cartier trinity ring on the birth of their second daughter Faith… even though the baby was born via a surrogate!

Fitness First…

There are so many new celebrity mothers that are quick to lose the weight they gained whilst pregnant and show off their fantastic new figures almost minutes after the birth.

One way to show results and earn some extra money is to have a photo shoot showing their bikini bodies or something that is becoming highly common is the fitness DVD that is designed to help all new mothers look and feel fantastic after labour with regular 9 hour workouts and carb cutting diets!

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson has released a DVD for women who are pregnant and just given birth after working with Kim Kardashian to lose her baby weight!

Motherhood truly is a unique experience and every new mother handles it differently. Whether you wish to emulate the celeb lifestyle and remain glamorous yet worry about nannies or be a normal mum who embraces the baby sick whilst being as elegant as possible, a child really is a gift.
