As a woman, juggling a full-time career with raising a family and attending to the needs of a partner is no small feat. This is probably why many working women feel exhausted all the time. Working moms are the real super-heroes, and need all the help they can get.

The good news is that it’s possible to attain a healthy balance between your work and family life. This way, not only will you be able to take good care of your family, but you’ll also be able to stay healthy, have a lot of energy and achieve your career goals. Bottom line, you can have it all. Here’s how:

Establish a Healthy Daily Routine

A healthy daily routine is crucial to your health and mental well-being. This can be in the form of exercise, meditation, waking up before the kids are up, and much more.

For example, if you’re working from home and have to get the kids ready for school, wake up earlier –say around 5 a.m. to start preparing for the day. The goal should be to get the kids out of the house by 7 a.m. This means making breakfast and lunch and waking the kids up to get ready for school.

Then once you drop them off at school or the bus stop where the school bus picks them up from, you can go back inside the house, do some cleaning up and rest before you begin working on your tasks for the day. Some moms use this opportunity to take an extra 1-hour nap before getting started for the day.

Consider Sending the Kids to a Boarding School

If the kids are of age, you may want to consider sending them to a boarding school. Of course, this is a bit more difficult these days because of the coronavirus.

But if your kids are vaccinated and you can bear the thought of having them be in boarding schools, this can work. The benefits of boarding school for both your kids and you are tremendous. With the kids out of the house for that prolonged period, you’ll have more time to focus on yourself.

Outsource Irrelevant Tasks

If you can afford it, you should consider outsourcing many tasks that tend to drain your energy and strength. For example, cleaning the house can be a bit difficult when you have work deadlines.

To make this easier on yourself, consider hiring a house help or cleaners to come to the house to clean twice a week. Alternatively, you can buy robot vacuums like the iRobot Roomba series, or Shark robot vacuums. These can be timed to clean the floors every day, while you focus on other things.

Prioritize Self-Care

Self-care is how you stay centered and keep your energy levels in optimal shape. So, find and choose activities that will help keep you centered and tranquil.

Some activities that can help you stay calm and centered include exercise, meditation, watching a favorite show, gardening, listening to music… and many more. Just find what makes you happy and fulfilled, and do it. This way, you’ll find that your sense of well-being will drastically improve.
