I am a floral designer during the day. I stand all day long. During Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day I may be on my feet for up to 14 hours a day. That sounds rough! Being on your feet all day deserves some serious pampering. Here are a few ideas to target your tired legs and unwind your mind:
Soothe Your Legs:
- Warm Bath with Epsom Salts: A warm bath with Epsom salts is a classic for a reason. The magnesium in the salts helps relax muscles, while the warmth improves circulation. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil like lavender or chamomile for an extra relaxing touch.
- Foot Soak and Massage: Fill a basin with warm water and add some Epsom salts or a foot soak solution. Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes, then give yourself a foot massage using lotion or coconut oil. Focus on your arches and toes, which can get especially tight after standing all day.
Would you like a foot massage without doing it yourself? Try the Bob and Brad foot massager machine with heat and remote control. I was lucky to have one of these sent to me to review.
The Bob and Brad foot massager has 4 settings to choose from.
You can also use heat to add that special touch. If you want to change the intensity there is no reason to get up or bend down, just use the remote that comes with it.
After my long days at work it was heavenly to come home and pamper my tired feet.
Other ways to pamper yourself:
Unwind Your Mind:
- Light a Candle and Put on Calming Music: Create a spa-like atmosphere at home by lighting some scented candles and putting on calming music. There are many relaxation playlists available online, or you can create your own with your favorite calming tunes.
- Read a Book or Listen to a Podcast: Escape into a good book or listen to a podcast on a topic that interests you. This is a great way to take your mind off work and de-stress.
- Do Some Gentle Stretches or Yoga: Light stretching or yoga can help to loosen up tight muscles and improve circulation. There are many gentle yoga routines available online that are perfect for beginners or those who are short on time.
Bonus Pampering:
- Treat Yourself to a Home Facial: After soaking in the bath, give your face some extra TLC with a homemade facial mask. There are many recipes available online for masks made with simple ingredients like honey, yogurt, and avocado.
- Make Yourself a Healthy and Delicious Meal: You don’t want to cook after a long day? Order takeout from your favorite healthy spot. Or, if you do have some energy, whip up a quick and easy meal that’s good for you.
No matter what you choose to do, make sure to take some time for yourself to relax and unwind. You deserve it!
