TriCalm An Itch Cream

018

My daughter always has some sort of bite that she wants itch cream on. I guess it started in the summer with all the mosquitoes. I have this serum from Mary Kay, from a long time ago that soothes the itch. I have since tried a few other itch creams and they all kinda work the same. I think it might be more of a placebo effect for my daughter most of times.

My daughter also has an eczema patch on the inside of her elbow, that I have to have a medicated cream for. I do not use the itch creams for that one.

When asked by Moms Meet to try a new itch cream, TriCalm, I thought great! Another one to try.

After having the TriCalm in our bathroom for a week or so, my daughter complained about an itchy spot. So I got out the TriCalm and applied it.

She did not like it, said it made it hurt.  Will I try it again on her or my son? Yes. I just haven’t needed to yet. I like that it’s a clear gel. Nice and thin and there is no odor.

If you or your kids get bit a lot, like our family, I would give it a try. It’s good for itching, burning and stinging. I know this summer we will have lots of that with all the mosquitoes we get around here.

TriCalm offers powerful relief from itching, burning and stinging caused by rashes, hives, sunburn, allergic reactions,
bug bites, poison ivy and other skin ailments. A steroid-free anti-itch gel, TriCalm works on contact to help alleviate
discomfort associated with minor skin irritations.

My Chevy Camero Experience.

I have been wanting to try out one of Chevy’s new eco-friendly cars since I attended their Moms Night Out almost two years ago. But when I heard from the rep, she said they had none available and would I like to drive a Chevy Camero for a week. I was kinda flabbergasted and I said yes!

I wasn’t thinking that it was a smaller car and not great with small kids (car seats and all). But it was delivered and wow! was it beautiful!

It’s a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Convertible with a 6.2L V8 Engine and 6-speed Automatic Transmission. Which doesn’t mean a lot to me, but my husband all the guy neighbors were quite impressed.

I was more interested in the interior features….OnStar Directions & Connections, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Chevrolet MyLink with 7” diagonal color touch screen. The screen was awesome and big and colorful!

Also included was Rear Park Assist, which I did not test out. Heated leather-appointed driver and front passenger seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, again I did not test, as it was warm in Florida and no need to. A remote start and USB port.

Here you can see there is not much leg room in the back. Once you strap a car seat in there, there is not a lot of room for legs.

I did take a group of friends to The Women’s Show and we did fit and it was okay back there.

My favorite feature was how the MPH were projected on the window, so I did not need to take my eyes off the road to see how fast I was going. I think all cars should do this.

Doesn’t it look nice on my street? The convertible was fun to use. Savannah kept asking me to take her to school with the top down!! I was one hot momma at school that week!

I loved driving the Camero around town for the week, but it is definatly not a family car.

Here’s a picture of the girls and I in it for the Women’s show.

I received the above car the week loan. All opinions are my own.

My Pretty Playhouse Review/Giveaway

001
What little girl or boy doesn’t enjoy a playhouse? They make fort and house out of whatever they can get their hands on. Having a “playhouse” full time can take up a lot of room, so I love temporary houses. they get used and used and then they can go away.

We received My Pretty Playhouse, which a little bit of both. My Pretty Playhouse is made out from 100% recycled cardboard. The kids can decorate the playhouse and when your done you can fold it back up and save it for another day. Or use it until it’s done!

003

We put ours together in our den. I put most of it together by myself, but had to enlist my hubby or the roof. The directions do indicate that this a  two person job. Once done, Savannah had a great time going in and looking out the windows.

004

005

She can stand up inside.

006

Then comes the fun part for her – decorating. We got out her markers and crayons, these did not come with the house. I help at her insistence. You can see the eggs the duck is sitting on below. My only wish was that there were more “items” to color. Some of the other house sold do have more to decorate. Savannah still had lots of fun coloring and starting coloring on the inside as well.

007

008

Savannah has had several friends over and they all have fun hiding and giggling in the playhouse.

My Pretty Playhouse is affordable at $34.99. The size is great and can work just about anywhere. Plus you can recycle it when you are all done. It is recommended for ages three and up. But it’s not the only cool toy from Boutique Cascades. They also carry other playhouse than this one, birdhouses, cars, tables and chairs – all made out of recycled cardboard!  All ready to decorate!

Cabanne2-H-300

For each playhouse sold in Canada and in United States, Cascades will donate two dollars to Habitat for Humanity. What a wonderful thing to do!

Cascades would like to give one Mommy Has to Work reader a My Pretty Playhouse of their own! See details below.

Also check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

The Lesson by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Lessoncover-248x384

The Lesson is the third book in the Stoney Ridge Seasons Series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. You certainly do not need to read the first two books in order to enjoy The Lesson. But I enjoyed reading the whole series. It involves three sisters, each book is dedicated to a sister.

The Lesson is a great read, just like all of Suzanne Woods Fisher books. If you like light romance or Amish books, I would recommend giving The Lesson a try. Suzanne Woods Fisher is a wonderful author and I always love her books!

The Lesson is about a young woman, Mary Kate Lapp, who’s always looking for adventure but always seems to find trouble. Mary Kate want to travel and be a detective, but those are against the Amish ways. Mary Kate does find adventure and love, but just not the way she thought she would!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Centered on one of Suzanne Woods Fisher’s most loved characters, this is the story fans have eagerly anticipated. The precocious M.K. is all grown up (well, almost) and ready to take on the world-with surprising results. Fisher’s trademark plot twists and turns are as unexpected and satisfying as ever in this third book in the Stoney Ridge Seasons series. In her wildest dreams, spunky and impulsive nineteen-year-old Mary Kate Lapp never imagined herself behind a schoolteacher’s desk. A run-in (literally) with the schoolteacher compels her to act as a substitute teacher, just as her restless desire to see the world compels her to apply for a passport . . . just in case. The only thing of interest to M.K. in the sleepy Amish community of Stoney Ridge is the unexplained death of a sheep farmer that coincided with the arrival of a mysterious young man into the community. Frustrated that no one takes the crime seriously, she takes matters into her own hands. Unfortunately, as tends to be the case for M.K., she jumps headlong into trouble.
