My daughter has been wanting matching dolls clothes for a while now. Some of the ones I’ve seen in the stores look a little cheap.

Recently I was asked to review a matching set of clothes for Doll Clothes Superstore. They are an online store with a lot to choose from!

There are clothes for American Girl, Cabbage Patch, My Twinn and Baby Clothes. Then they have matching girl and doll clothes. The sizes for the girls run from size 2 to 16.

Both dresses are of great quality. The satin is nice and thick and soft. I know this will last a long time and am very happy with both of these dresses.

Dancing with Fireflies – Book Review

I received a copy of this book to review.

Dancing with Butterflies

Dancing with Fireflies by Denise Hunter was a wonderful read! It was a light romance with no mushy stuff, no mystery just a good old-fashioned novel. I really loved how the character were brought to life and interacted with each other. I could see this as a wonderful movie as well.

Dancing with Fireflies is about a young woman, Jade that returns home pregnant and no where else to turn. While home looking for  a job and a husband she finds herself falling in love with a childhood friend.

Jade returns home to Chapel Springs after years of protecting her fragile heart. Then along comes Daniel, making her long to dance again.

Creative and complicated, Jade McKinley felt like a weed in a rose garden growing up in Chapel Springs. When she left, she thought she’d never look back. But now, pregnant, alone, and broke, she has no other choice but to return.

The mayor of Chapel Springs, Daniel Dawson, has been an honorary member of the McKinley family for years. While his own home life was almost non-existent, Daniel fit right into the boisterous McKinley family. He’s loved Jade for years, but she always saw him as a big brother. Now that she’s back, his feelings are stronger than ever.

As Jade attempts to settle in, nothing feels right. God seems far away, she’s hiding secrets from her family, and she’s strangely attracted to the man who’s always called her “squirt.” Finding her way home may prove more difficult than she imagined.

The Devil Walks in Mattingly – by Billy Coffey

the devil walks in mattingly

When I was younger I use to read a lot of Stephen King and Dean Koontz books. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten away from them. I’d have to compare The Devil Walks in Mattingly by Billy Coffey with books written by my long-lost favorite authors.

The book took me a while to get into and the more I read the more bizarre it became. I couldn’t stop reading it even though it freaked me out a bit. I would love to check other books by Billy Coffey. He write’s a great story and really gets you involved in the book. if you like King or Koontz, I’d say check this one too!

For the three people tortured by their secret complicity in a young man’s untimely death, redemption is what they most long for . . . and the last thing they expect to receive.

It has been twenty years since Philip McBride’s body was found along the riverbank in the dark woods known as Happy Hollow. His death was ruled a suicide. But three people have carried the truth ever since—Philip didn’t kill himself that day. He was murdered.
Each of the three have wilted in the shadow of their sins. Jake Barnett is Mattingly’s sheriff, where he spends his days polishing the fragile shell of the man he pretends to be. His wife, Kate, has convinced herself the good she does for the poor will someday wash the blood from her hands. And high in the mountains, Taylor Hathcock lives in seclusion and fear, fueled by madness and hatred.
Yet what cannot be laid to rest is bound to rise again. Philip McBride has haunted Jake’s dreams for weeks, warning that he is coming back for them all. When Taylor finds mysterious footprints leading from the Hollow, he believes his redemption has come. His actions will plunge the quiet town of Mattingly into darkness. These three will be drawn together for a final confrontation between life and death . . . Between truth and lies.

TwirlyGirl Dress Review

girls-twirly-dresses-hp-1b
I was asked to review a TwirlyGirl Dress for my daughter. My daughter is six and just about every six-year-old girl loves to twirl in their skirts and dresses. So of course I said, YES! I went on-line to check them out and knew my daughter would love one. My daughter loves wear girls party dresses like these.

007

The package came and arrived like this. I thought this was a great way to ship the dress and my daughter was super excited about opening dress.

Twirly Girl

Immediately my daughter wanted to try it on. Now this dress is reversible which makes it even more adorable. She had a little difficulty getting on. She’s pro at it now, though. She twirled around the house for hours and really has worn it at least once a week or once a day since we got it. (wink) She is in love with this dress for sure!

I took her outside a few days later for some twirling photos. Look how happy she is! I tried to get her to wear some shorts under it but she’s strong-willed child. So I had to go through some of the pictures that were not appropriate to show. What little girl wouldn’t love these girls party dresses!

party dresses for girls

Halfway through our “photo shoot” she went inside to reverse the dress. Viola! Another dress! This party dress for girls is so cool because you get two dresses for the price of one!

twirling

I love how the there are two layers of fabric. It adds extra bounce and flair while twirling.

Twirly Dress

The dress is easy to care for just wash on gentle on you can throw it in the dryer for a few minutes then hang dry. Or just hang dry. Comes out perfect. The material, which is made from polyester and spandex does not wrinkle which is a huge bonus!! My daughter wears it so much and it’s still holding strong. The dress is made in the USA, another bonus!

The TwirlyGirl Shop has more than just girl party dresses, though. They have tops, bottoms and skirts as well. You can even customize your own dress! If you want to see the TwirlyGirl’s entire collection shop here.

The dress shown above on my daughter is the Reversible Twirly Racer Dress | Sweet Sunshine Soul and it retails for $78.00. Now you may say that’s sounds pricey but if you have a daughter that likes to wear girls party dresses it is totally worth it. She wears it almost every day!! Plus they have so many styles to choose from.

I do have a coupon code to get 15% off your order – FUN49TG. The coupon code expires April 15th so make sure to shop soon. May I say that this would make a wonderful Easter Outfit!!

Friend Me – Book Review

Friend Me

I was excited to get Friend Me in the mail to review. From reading the review it sounded like a great suspense novel. I was not disappointed!

Friend Me by John Faubion was a wonderful read! Friend me is very current and is all about the internet and what kind of crazy, amazing things can be done online. But throw in a lot of good suspense and mystery and you have a great read.

The book starts off with Melissa apply for a job at a computer company which is going to be launching a new program. Then her new boss turns up missing. Fast forward five years when Melissa is now the leader in the new Virtual Friend Me program. With the  Virtual Friend Me program a person can create a friend living or dead, or someone totally new to be “friends” with on-line.  That’s where Scott and Rachel come into play. Rachel is a bored house wife that wants a friend to talk to. Her husband works late and Rachel suspects he’s cheating on her. Rachel signs up to create a “friend”. Scott is intrigued and creates his own “friend”. Little do they know Melissa is manipulating both of them….

You’ve got to check this book out!

About the book: When a lonely wife and her frustrated husband each secretly pursue companionship online, neither dreams that a real woman is behind their virtual creations, threatening their marriage—and their lives.

Scott and Rachel’s marriage is on the brink of disaster. Scott, a businessman with a high-pressure job, just wants Rachel to understand him and accept his flaws. Rachel is a lonely housewife, desperate for attention and friendship. So she decides to create a virtual friend online, unaware that Scott is doing the exact same thing. As Rachel desperately tries to re-create a friendship with a friend who has passed, Scott becomes unfaithful and is torn between the love for his wife and the perfection of his cyber-girlfriend. But neither realizes that there’s a much larger problem looming . . .

Behind both of their online creations is Melissa, a woman who is brilliant—and totally insane. Masquerading as both friend and lover, Melissa programmed a search parameter into the virtual friend software to find her perfect man, but along the way she forgot to specify his marriage status. And Scott is her ideal match. Now Melissa is determined to have it all—Scott, his family, and Rachel’s life.

As Melissa grows bolder and her online manipulations transition into the real world, Scott and Rachel figure out they are being played. Now it’s a race against time as Scott and Rachel fight to save their marriage, and their lives, before it’s too late.

In today’s digital age, the Internet presents all kinds of opportunities to test our personal boundaries, and this exciting and suspenseful story raises important questions about the ethics of virtual relationships. Friend Me will open your eyes to a new—and terrifying—moral dimensions and how they play out in the real world.
