CleanFlame Fire Log Review

Living in South Florida we do not get to light as many fires as we’d like. We do have a fireplace though, beautiful stone, one of our favorite features of the house. But who wants to use one of those fire logs with all the chemicals in it?
I was contacted a few months ago about doing a product review for CleanFlame products. CleanFlame products are safe, family-friendly, 100% recycled fire products. They re-purpose used waxed-box containers into ultra-clean burning firelogs and firestarters which save trees, relieve overburdened landfills, and clean up the air.
We are doing everything we can to be eco-friendly and this is another great item to add to the list!
So what did we think? WE loved it. I asked my husband what he thought, did the logs work different and all that. He said they worked the same as the old one did. No different, except for the fact that these were better for us and better for the environment.
Using CleanFlame™ products, you can have peace of mind knowing your cozy fire does not pollute our air, strip our forests, deplete our resources, or impact delicate rainforest ecosystems. No trees are sacrificed, no non-renewable resources consumed, no palm oil harvested for CleanFlame™ products. In fact, by using our products you are preserving forests and reducing landfills.

Our patented closed-loop production process offers enormous benefits for the environment and allows store chains and consumers to achieve their goals for a cleaner environment. The process starts when water-tight waxed-box containers are used to ship produce to grocery stores. Unfortunately, this highly weather-resistant material is not readily recyclable. And until now, the vast majority of these used containers have been routed to landfills, where they take up to 50 years to decompose.

CleanFlame offers Rapid Fire Firestarters, Firelogs and Campfire in a can. All are made from 100% recycled materials.

Check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
Plus on their website you can get a $3.00 coupon!

Disney Pictureka – Review – Holiday Gift Guide

We are going to Disney in just a few days and we are super excited about anything Disney. Hasbro sent me a Disney Pictureka. The ages for this are 6 and up, but Savannah and I took it out and we played by our own rules. Which is basically reading a clue and looking for the picture. No time limits for us.

Game nights for us have been on hold with the little one around. It’s not so easy playing games with a 2 year old taking the pieces and throwing them around. Finally a game we can all play! I’ve never played any version of Pictureka, but will look forward to many games of this one!

We had fun and Savannah did a great job!

Check out more fun games to play, here.

Thank you so much Hunter PR and Hasbro for providing us this game.

The Little Looster – Review

Do you get tired of having the potty stool in the way? Want an easier way to potty train? Try out The Little Looster – Booster for the Loo.

The Little Looster was made by a mom looking for a better way to potty train her own children. With The Little Looster, children will have the confidence and comfort of potty training.

I received a Little Looster to try out.

Here you can see Savannah’s little legs look comfortable and are not dangling from the potty.

Here you can see a big person’s legs fit nicely around the Little Looster, so it does not need to be moved every time someone else needs to use the bathroom. It did not work for my legs, I’m only 5’2″. But Savannah loves it and if you’re looking for something more than just a small stool, try it out. It’s nice and big around the toilet, so little one will not slip getting up.

Check out www.littlelooster.com for more information. They sell for just under $40.00

The Autism Sisterhood Book Review

I signed up to do a review on The Autism Sisterhood by Michele Brooks. I do not have children who are autistic, but my sister in law has two boys with autism.

I was one of those moms who worried (very much so) about the effects of Autism and the immunization shots. I read many different things and still really do not have an opinion either way. Both of my children did receive their shots and I no longer worry.

Anyway – on to the book – The Autism Sisterhood. It’s a great little book with some great information inside. It’s not big – it’s to the point.

The author, Michelle Brooks states that “this book is short because I know you don’t have much free time to sit without interruption.” “It’s small because I hope that once you’ve read it, you’ll place it in your purse or backpack and pass it along.”

It’s about support, encouragement and hope.

There are many different subjects, but they are only about a page long. Just enough information to get you started and the author just tells it like it is. I mean who has time to read and read, especially if you have autistic children. I love the format of this book and I wish more “help” books were written this way. Short and to the point.

Some subjects include: Celebrating Holidays, Singing Songs and Little Chefs, to name a few. There are many such subjects, but again short and to the point. Each subject comes with a tried and true “sisterhood tip”.

One subject I liked was Indoor Picnic. This one is actually good for all children. Have an indoor picnic with The Very Hungry Caterpillar puzzle. Have different foods and let the children taste them, touch them, smell them and so on.

I would definitely recommend this book if you or someone you know has Autistic children.

I will passing this book on to my sister in law and hope that she will in turn pass it on as well.

You can purchase it on Amazon for $9.95.
