Popular Daytime Halloween Celebration Returns Weekends September 22 – October 28

 Halloween Spooktacular returns to SeaWorld Orlando this fall on September 22. Guests of all ages can join everyone’s favorite furry friends from Sesame Street as The Count, Elmo, Abby and others take the stage in “Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween.” Families will also enjoy a Halloween Dance Party and meet whimsical characters inspired by the sea. For this special event, children can dress in their Halloween costumes and take part in fun-filled trick-or-treating in the park.

The daytime Halloween fun takes place every Saturday and Sunday starting September 22 through October 28, 2018 and is included with park admission. Event hours are 11 a.m. to park close.

Celebrate a Spooktacular Halloween at SeaWorld with The Count, Elmo, Abby, and the rest of your Sesame Street friends!  The Count is feeling lonely this Halloween, and it’s up to you and the loveable monsters from Sesame Street to get him into the Halloween spirit.  Batty bats and spooky skeletons join the fun in a song-filled stage show that invites you and your family to dance, play and sing along.

As a parent to two children, I am very familiar with toys. Toys EVERYWHERE in my home. So many that my children play with, and never touch again. Especially Lego’s. They will build Lego sets, have fun with their creations for a total of 5 minutes, and then the set is destroyed never to been seen again. Come on, who is with me on this? So much money spent on these sets only to be played with for a short time. There has to be something better. Well, there is! Let me introduce you to Toy Library.

Ahhhh a Lego set I do not have to keep! This set my 10 yr old put together in about 35 minutes. It is a lot of fun and my kiddos have enjoyed playing with it. It was brand new as you can tell from the pictures, so when I returned I made sure to include all packaging back in the mesh bag.

This Lego bracelet is the coolest! It comes with some Lego pieces to build on the bracelet and wear around. My son loves it!!

In conclusion, I think this is such a great monthly service to join. No more clutter around the house, no more playing with a $50 toy for 5 seconds and not knowing where it ends up after that. Reading is one thing everyone says they want to do more of but never do. One of those “work out more” New Year’s resolutions.

 Well, reading is actually something that is very beneficial to people. It goes further than just a productive way to spend your free time, in the rare moments you have it. Reading can be helpful for the body and mind, and you probably have more time to do it than you think. If you need some motivation to introduce reading into your life, here are the benefits and advice on how to incorporate it.

1. Reduce Stress

Add together work, kids and housework, and you get a very stressful equation. You probably don’t need to hear that life gets hectic, but reading can be an escape from that believe it or not.

 Reading requires a quiet environment and a cozy seat, two things that will undoubtedly help you catch a break. Books can capture a reader and transport them to a life other than their own, an imaginary world guided by the words on a page. With millions of options to choose from, there is guaranteed to be a book that helps you escape from daily stress. 

2. Mental Health 

Your brain needs exercise just as much as the rest of your body and reading does just that. Keeping your mind active is proven to reduce the progression of Alzheimer’s and dementia. It is important to not only keep your brain strong but to also strengthen your memory.  

When you read a book, you have to memorize the constantly fluctuating plot and characters over the course of multiple chapters. With every new memory you are making just by reading the words on a page, the more memory pathways, or synapses, are being created in your brain. Reading can literally enhance your brain function and keep you from developing life threatening illnesses. What more of a benefit could there be? 

3. Knowledge 

With every new book that you read, you will come across new words and information that you’ve never heard. Reading exposes you to language skills, vocabulary, and ideas that can shape you intellectually.  

The higher level of knowledge and communication skills that will build up as you read will directly impact the confidence and impression you leave on other people. This can benefit you in not only the professional world but also in social aspects, thus improving your life on multiple levels. 

How to Fit Reading Into Your Daily Life 

It can be difficult to find any kind of free time in the adult world. Trying to find a way to include anything besides eating, sleeping and working into a hectic schedule can feel impossible, let alone finding hours to read a book. Maybe you could read a few pages here and there, but you’ll never truly soak in the story as it is intended to be read.  

That being said, have you ever thought of reading a summary? Usually when you hear the word summary, you think of a very short synopsis of the book with very little detail. An app called Blinkist has created a way to read a shorter version of the story without omitting important details. 

Blinkist is a monthly subscription-based app that separates the major points of books and makes them into a mini series of concise information. With a massive selection of summaries, it puts the option to learn, listen or read about anything you want into your hands anywhere you are. You have the option to read these summaries or listen to them on an audio format. This makes it easier to gain the knowledge or enjoyment on the go and when you find a little free time. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a wedding photo must be worth at least a billion. A well-composed wedding photo encapsulates the emotional weight and memories of your most special day. Yet, great wedding pictures do not happen by pure serendipity. They take time, energy, and strategic planning. If you find yourself thinking “I need to have the most amazing pictures at my wedding,” here are a few ways to make that happen.

 Collaboration is Key

At its core, a wedding is truly a collaboration. It is an exchange between husband and wife, a mixing of friend groups, and an interchange of families. The wedding itself is an artistic endeavor headed by multiple entities. The wedding photos are being taken by a photographer, overseen by a wedding planner, and are enjoyed by the married couple. Thus, for the pictures to be a success, there needs to be open and honest communication between all parties.

Talk to your wedding photographer, let them know exactly what you want to capture. Be detailed in your descriptions, and ask your wedding planner when would be the best time for a photo break. If all parties are working cohesively, this will show in the quality of your photos!

You will want to incorporate every element of your day into your photography plan. This will not just be crucial moments like cutting the cake or walking down the aisle at a beautiful venue like St Etheldredas church. These will be the candid, realistic moments. Create a Timeline for your Photos

This is crucial: in order to get the photos that you want for your wedding, you need to schedule them. You cannot rely on candid shots alone to record your wedding. You will want posed photos of the bride and groom, flower girls, the reception, the cake, and countless other crucial moments. If you want to capture everything, you need to set the time aside for these camera moments. Most importantly, you need to create a schedule.

The best way to establish a schedule is to meet with your photographer and planner well in advance. A professional wedding photographer has captured multiple weddings, and may have an outline that has worked for them in the past. Let your photographer know what moments are imperative and be willing to make some minor compromises.

Make certain that this schedule is made long before the wedding. This way, on the day of your nuptials, you can focus on what matters the most!

 Be Realistic About Your Timing 

When making your schedule, you need to set aside an appropriate amount of time for your photos. It’s a common misconception that photos are expedient. In fact, they are actually somewhat arduous and long. It can take several moments to set up the lighting, framing, and equipment. Once the shot is established, it can take even longer to compose the individuals in the photo.

This is why you need to block off large chunks of time for your photos. Allow yourself at least 30 minutes for minor shots, and at least an hour for imperative pictures. This may seem like a lot of time, but this is simply a precaution against feeling rushed.

The worst case scenario is that you finish your photos ahead of schedule, and you have more time to enjoy your wedding!
