Now I Can Get Back to Work!

Today is the first day of school for us. Yeah! I’m excited to get some alone time. I know I will miss my children but now they will not be bored. All summer, every day, I heard, “I’m bored, I have nothing to do!” Well now they have something to do! lol

My daughter, who is 6, said, “you just want to get rid of us”. I said, “no, but when you go to school you will have children to play with and will play and learn and have so much fun!”

So now I can get back to work. I feel like I’ve neglected my blog over the summer. I usually post once a day and recently I was lucky to get a post up once a week. I am ready to get writing and interacting with all my readers!

And….maybe hanging out at the pool with a good book – by myself! 😉

Benefits of Using Salon-Quality Products

When figuring out which beauty products to buy, it can be a bit difficult to know where to invest your money. It may be convenient and tempting to pick up your shampoo and other products at your local grocery store, but there may be some pressure to buy salon-quality products. These products are often more expensive and you may have to go out of your way to get them, but are they really worth the extra money? The answer, in a word, is yes. Here are some of the benefits of using salon-quality products.

Better Quality Ingredients

You get what you pay for, and that saying holds very true when it comes to beauty products. If you know what you’re looking for, you can compare a cheaper bottle of shampoo next to a salon-quality bottle of shampoo and check the ingredients. You will notice that the ingredients are similar, but they do vary. The conditioners and other ingredients that actually matter are always of a much higher quality in the salon products whereas the store bought products will have additional ingredients that don’t actually have much benefit. Shampoo is just an example; this will generally hold true for all hair and beauty products.

Get The Most For Your Money

While it may be true that you pay more for the salon-quality products, you will absolutely get more for the money that you spend. Just because you can get more product doesn’t mean that the product will do a better job or even provide you much benefit. Essentially store bought products will get the job done, but not do the best job possible. If you buy a cheap hairspray, for instance, you may need to use a lot more product volume to get it to work. Even if you do get it to work, it may not have the desired result. On the other hand, if you use a salon hairspray it will be much more likely you will be satisfied and you will have to use less product.

They Will Spare You Grief

If you buy a beauty product of any kind you will be doing so because you have a desired result in mind. The problem is, it may be hard to find out exactly which store bought product will give you that result. You could end up buying product after product with a lot of trial and error and you still may not be totally happy with it. On the other hand, if you go to a salon and actually talk to someone who knows about the products, they will be able to help you find exactly the right product to suit your needs. Though it may cost a little bit more up front, you will save yourself a lot of time and potentially money in the long run. It will make the process much easier.

While many people have questions about salon products versus store-bought products, it is hard to argue against the proven benefits that come along with buying a quality salon-product. No matter what you buy, just make sure that you buy the right product for you.

The recipes we received looked delicious! However I know my family and they would not eat it. I have a super picky family. But I looked up brown rice recipes on RachelRay.com and from a Brown Rice Pilaf. This will go great with our chicken. So I was all excited to try my new recipe and we all love rice so I just knew it would be great! All you need is: 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 Handful of whole wheat thin spaghetti, broken into little pieces 1 cup brown rice 2 cups chicken stock salt and pepper Then…. In a high-sided covered skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add the spaghetti and toast untill golden brown. Add in the rice and toss for about 1 minute. Stir in the stock and bring to a boil. Then cover and simmer for 40-45 minutes. Full with fork and serve Well…My daughter had a friend over and her mom came to get here just as the spaghetti noodles were “browning” on the stove. needless to say they got a little black. I should have started over right there but I went ahead and finished the dish. Unfortunately the dish tasted a little burnt. So…it was not a big hit with the kids. I ate about half my serving. BUT – I will try it again!! Backyard Oceans Pool

Living in Florida many, many people have their own pool. We had one in our last house and while I do miss seeing it everyday I don’t miss taking care of it.

Where we live now, we have a resort style water park and really there is no need to get a pool, but sometimes it’s ice to just let the kids go outside and play without going anywhere. When Backyard Ocean Pool asked me to review one of their pools, of course I said yes! I choose the Deluxe Square Party Pool.

We got this little box and I thought there is no way a pool is inside this box!

But it was in there!! We took the pool outside and started to figure out how to blow it up. I was disappointed that there were no instructions included. I also looked online and could not find any helpful hints. We did get it up and started filling it with water.
