Road Trip Musts

We are going on a road trip soon and we were talking about we need to have in the car for the kids. We will be in the car for quite a while. We plan on stopping often and doing some sightseeing along the way.

But, being cramped in the car, everyone needs some extra things to do, even Grammy!

MP3 players are great, especially if you bring along headphones. This kids can listen to their favorite music.

Books  – Quite time.

For my daughter, paper and pen. She loves to write things down. We can’t read them, but she likes to do it all the same.

ipads, iPods, Leappad, laptop computers – download VLC media player. It’s a free.

Portable DVD players. We just bought new ones. It’s a dual pack that the kids can watch a movie together separately.

Games. We have Bingo cards. They are always a big hit.

These are just a few items we will adding to our car. I hope it’s enough to keep everyone happy.

I'm a mother of 2 who likes to get involved in too much! Besides writing here I started a non-profit, I'm on the PTO board, very active in my community and volunteer in the school. I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!

All of these items are great for road trips. When I was young and my family took trips we did not have half of these items. We were so bored and I always hated being in the car for a long time. I would now bring snacks and drinks for the kids, that can help to have food if they are hungry.

  22. Our iPad is a definite must for my family! It’s such a genius invention and is fun for the whole family!

  23. I love to have my xm radio!

  24. I have to have my iPad, iPhone, notebook, macbook when I go on most trips.

  26. Man back in the day all we had was books for the kids, later in highschool MP3’s, no DVD players, that is what I would bring 🙂

  27. Great tips for road trips! I definitely need my ipod or just good music for everyone. =)
