I was asked to review Celtic Woman by Team Mom. I love music as well as my husband and now children. We love just about every kind of music. I wasn’t sure about this one, but wanted to try it out. When I received the package, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. I went ahead and tried it out the next day on my way to work and drop off Savannah. She was a little cranky that morning and is always very picky about what she listens to in the car. The music is very soft and light and instrumental, even included bagpipes. Savannah was quite the entire trip to school (about 30 minutes). We both enjoyed the music.
A little information about Celtic Woman. They are a 5 member Irish female ensemble known for putting a modern twist on the Celtic Sound. The Songs from the Heart CD includes contemporary hits like Sting’s “Fields of Gold” and Billy Joel’s “Goodnight My Angel.” Celtic Woman is all over the Billboard charts, selling more than 3.8 million records in the U.S. alone, and has had 7 sold-out US Tours. They are currently kicking off their tour which includes dates at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall. They’ve performed on Dancing With the Stars and will have an upcoming PBS special.

I love many different kinds of music, but my favorite is classical because it's so expressive. It can have any personality, whereas others kinds of music are more limited based on their genre.

my favorite type of music? wow! i like os many! i LOVe celtic women of course, but celtic is not my fav, i love jpop, darkwave, opera, folk, goth, heavy metal (but not the gravely voices) and some more, so its really hard for me to just pick one, i know there are many genres i missed too.

My favorite type of music…I actually have a few favorite types. I like orchestral soundtrack music (and TV and movie background music in general; I like Celtic folk music, I like fantasy filk music, and I also like pop and Japanese pop.
I like them because they're beautiful and/or fun to listen to (and dance to), and the folk/filk music often has a story.
