Express Script is No Longer at Walgreens

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you have a prescription plan with your health insurance? I know most plans carry prescription coverage. However, as of January 1st, 2012 Walgreens will no longer be a part of Express Scripts. Walgreens and Express Scripts were not able to come to an agreement, forcing many patients to go elsewhere for their prescriptions. Many of these customers have been using Walgreens for years. This is hard on some patients as they have to change all of their prescriptions to another store and may have to drive further to get them. Thankfully, our prescription plan no longer deals with Express Scripts, so this is will not affect us.

If you have concerns, check out this press release: Walgreens and Express Script.

This will not affect everyone, check with your local Walgreens to make sure. In order to help customers affected by this change, Walgreens is offering an exclusive savings to their Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. For the month of January you can join the savings club for only $5 a person or $10 for a family. When you join, you will get savings on over 8000 brand name and all generic medications. This is a great deal, as the regular fee for the savings club is $20 a person and $35 for a family.

  1. Bad news for some, but savings will be great!!

  2. Between Express Scripts and Tricare they are losing some major business. Interesting concept they have come up with.
