Entertaining Kids During the Holidays

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I’ve been trying to come up with ideas for my daughter’s class party as well things to keep her occupied on Thanksgiving day.

One idea found on Pinterest was making these cute turkeys out of toilet paper rolls. These should be super easy to make.

Another idea is having the kids go outside and do sack races and some type of relay race. I’ll have some moms bring in old pillow cases and do a race. I’m sure the kids will have a blast. Yo can do this Thanksgiving day as well. When you have several small children, it’s best to keep them occupied.

I’m also printing out some Thanksgiving mazes and coloring sheets. I’m thinking of have the kids play bingo. I found some fun sheets to print out with turkeys, scarecrows and such on them. While the kids are playing  and waiting for food, the adults can go to partybingo.com  and have their own fun! Haha! Isn’t there football on that day? Maybe after.

Another idea for “the day” or class party is pumpkin rolling. Never heard of it before, but it sounds like fun! I mean how hard is it to roll a pumpkin? You’ll need 2 pumpkins. Preferably leftover from Halloween. A start and a finish line. Then who ever can roll their pumpkin to the finish line first is the winner!

Making glitter pine cones would be a great way to start the winter holidays! This can be done outside and requires little skill. You’ll need glitter and glue and pine cones. You might want to use newspaper under this project. I remember making these as a child. They always turn out really pretty!
