Make Valentine’s Day Sweeter with Nestle

014

Valentine’s Day is coming up and I love all the sweetness that goes into it. When I was working in the office, I would always hand out Valentines to all the employees with a bit of candy. But now that I’m home, I decided to make some Valentine Cupcakes for my family and neighbors.

I made a box mix, I don’t think I have every made some from scratch. I should try that next time. And took some fun candy form Nestle. I transformed ordinary cupcakes into Valentine Treats!

I used Valentine Fun Dip as a sprinkle on top of all of the cupcakes and used a Nestle Crunch Heart on the larger cupcakes. Then I sprinkled Valentine Nerds on all them as well. I hope my neighbors enjoy their treat!

What’s new with candy this year? The NEW WONKA Fun Dip Mystery Flavor treat! This remix of America’s favorite classroom exchange kit has a new, edgy, mysterious twist…that will keep you guessing!

And, to avoid over-spending on Valentine’s Day, moms choose Nestlé candy for some great Valentine’s Day treats all under $5. Already considered favorites by kids and moms (and returning again this year) are festive heart-themed treats: SweeTARTS Hearts, SweeTARTS Lollipops, Chocolate & Sugar Combo Exchange Bags, andButterfinger & Crunch Hearts

I received a box of Nestle Candies to review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Valentine Monster Love Bags

a4

Friday I went into my daughter’s school to help them make a fun Valentine’s Day bag to store all their Valentines in. One of the other moms had brought in all the materials and myself and few other moms helped cut out materials and helped the kids make them.

You can fin more information on how to make it and the templates here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Valentine-Math-Writing-Fun-All-You-Need-is-LOVE. There is a fee, but if you look throughout the site you may find other projects that do not require a fee.

Basically you take a paper shopping bag. Add a fun shaped face, eyes and mouth and glue it on the front.

019

Then take strips pf paper and accordion them (just fold them up) and add feet and hands. On the back was a little information sheet about their monster. What the monster likes and it’s favorite color and foods. The children had a lot of fun making their Valentine Monsters!

Crafty Bands Charm Bracelets

Valentine's_Day

Candy is so traditional for Valentine’s Day. If your little girl likes to craft why not get her Crafty Bands from Epiphany Crafts. It’s a brand new line of design-it-yourself custom charm bracelets.

Crafty Bands is designed for children ages 8 and up, but I made them with my five year old daughter and she did fine with a little help from me.

Crafty Bands comes with a Shape Studio Tool, which allows you to cut out pretty pictures. Bright, colorful bracelets and  charms are also included.

So, this how we made ours…

002

Savannah and I looked through my basket of magazines for fun pictures like Disney Princesses, hearts, letters and other fun stuff. Then we cut the pictures a little smaller.

001

Then Savannah choose a colorful bracelet and charms. We placed the picture into the Shape Studio Tool, added the top of the charm and cut the picture into a small circle. The top of the charm is sticky so the picture sticks to it.

005

Then we added a glue square, provided in the pack and added it to the top of the charm and placed the top to the bottom half. Then placed the charm onto the bracelet. Then we kept adding charms until her bracelet was done!

You can check out these fun Valentine’s Day printable from their website. http://craftybandsblog.blogspot.com/2013/01/crafty-bands-valentine-printables.html

You can also use pictures from the internet and regular photos of friends and family. I thought the magazines were easier form my daughter.

For older girls it would be fun to make a best friend bracelet. I could totally see myself as a tween doing that! These would great for sleepovers too!
