Adventure Landing Jacksonville Beach Shipwreck Island WaterPark

Having lived in Jacksonville for a little over a year now, we still haven’t seen all there is to see! The kids have been wanting to check out this cool place called Adventure Landing. It’s a big waterpark with go carts, mini golf and an arcade. I’ve been reluctant to go, but we were given passes to go visit the waterpark and try it out, so why not?

We were given four passes, but my husband was not able to come. They let me exchange a waterpark pass for 3 mini golf passes.! Yeah! So we played mini golf first.

They were working on their mini golf course, which I thought should have been done already in time for summer. But we still had a great time.

It was a hot day and the kids were ready to go get wet!

My daughter loved the pirate ship and the smaller slides. While my son was more daring and went on all the bigger slides. We also visited the wave pool. Savannah thought the waves were awesome!

After waiting for my son to come down the slide my camera shut off so I only got this picture at the end. He loved it!

We dried off and changed and played some games in the arcade. Overall we had a great time! The price for the waterpark is kind of high for me, $30 a person. If I were to pay, I would make sure to stay longer…But there are some coupons to be found below.

I love to paint my toes. Living in Florida my toes are always on display. I found these cute stickers that you just place on your nails after they dry.

Lately I’ve been painting my fingernails. I haven’t done that for like 12 years.

And of course I’ve been scouring Pinterest looking for some fun nail art. Stay tunes for some cool stuff!!

Summer is coming and that means the kids will be going to the beach and the pool. Living in Florida I know how important it is to wear sunscreen. Really no matter where you live you should wear it!! You can do even more by wearing UV protection swimwear as well!!

One of my favorite places to shop for UV protection is UV Skinzs! They have the cutest designs and their suits hold up for a long time! We received a swim shirt a few years back and it held up great!

We were sent a swim shirt for my son and one of their new hoodies for my daughter.

When she first saw it on the computer, she wasn’t too sure about it. But man o man, she loves it!! I’m thinking about getting myself one!! She wears it every time we go to the pool and she wore it the beach clean up we did for Earth Day.

It’s great to put on after she’s all done swimming. It keeps her nice and warm without being too hot. It’s very thin and breathable. It also has this cute butterfly that comes out of the pocket!!

My son’s Men’s Medium fits just perfect. I can’t believe he wears a men’s Medium!! He has not gone to the pool yet or the beach, but I’m sure he will soon!

Getting Ready to Mulch

It’s time to spruce up the yard! Spring is finally here in North Florida. A few months ago we actually bought some mulch and started to add it to our beds. But we ran out and haven’t finished it. That’s okay, though. I want to get some annuals to plant as well. Now that the weather is warmer I can get to work.

I wish I had known the proper ways to mulch before we got started, but now that I know, I’ll share with you!

Get all your tools and gardening supplies ready: gloves, rake, plants and mulch.

Spread the mulch 3 inches deep. Keep the mulch several inches from tree trunks and house foundations or other wood structures.

Apply around trees, shrubs, flowers or vegetables after seeds have germinated and plants have developed.

Do not use before seeds have germinated, around underdeveloped plants, and within several inches of house foundations or other wood surfaces.

One 2 cu. ft. bag will cover the following: At a depth of 2 inches, 12 sq. ft of bedding area. At a depth of 3 inches, 8 sq. ft. of bedding area. At a depth of 4 inches, 6 sq. ft. of bedding.

We’ve been in the Jacksonville area for a little over a year now and still have lots of exploring to do! Adventure Landing & Shipwreck Island Waterpark has been on our list since last summer but we never did make it!
