“WOULD YOU BE MINE?” features eight stories including “It’s Love Day!” and “Daniel’s Love Day Surprise.” In “It’s Love Day,” Daniel makes special heart cards to bring to school and hand out. While at school, some of the kids explain how they like to say “I love you” to their friends and family – Prince Wednesday likes to sing, and Miss Elaina likes to give hugs. In the story “Daniel’s Love Day Surprise,” Daniel helps his mom make a special heart-shaped pizza and finds a way to show Grandpère how much he loves him by setting up a special treasure hunt just for him featuring sparkling purple hearts.

The other stories included on this DVD are “Daniel and Miss Elaina Play Rocketship,” “Daniel Plays at the Castle,” “Friends Help Each Other,” “Daniel Helps O Tell a Story,”

“Margaret’s First Chime Time,” and “Tiger Family Fun.” One of the key ingredients that sets this series apart is its groundbreaking use of catchy musical strategies grounded in Fred Rogers’ landmark social-emotional curriculum that reinforce each theme and that preschoolers and parents both sing – and use – together in their daily lives. Some of the strategies kids will learn from the stories on this DVD include “find your own way to say, I love you” and “friends help each other, yes they do, it’s true.” Run time is 110 minutes and price is $12.99.  Click here to purchase your own copy.

“WORDWORLD: BE MY VALENTINE” DVD includes five stories, two of which are Valentine’s Day themed. “My Fuzzy Valentine” features Sheep working to create a valentine song for her best friend Bear. Unfortunately she has trouble finding just the right rhyme to finish her song. With help from Fly, she uncovers the perfect rhyme and makes Bear a valentine with real heart. In “Love, Bug,” Bug wants to sign a valentine for his favorite WordFriend, but doesn’t know how to write his name. With lots of encouragement from Frog he learns that with a little practice he can write his name and give his valentine.

In addition to these two great stories, this DVD also includes “Sh-Sh-Shark,” “Princess Sheep” and “There’s an Ant in Every Giant.” WORDWORLD demonstrates the connections between letters, sounds, words, and meaning in order to empower children to advance from learning letters to learning how to read. Some of the words kids will learn by watching this DVD include heart, bug, shoe and crown. Run time is 60 minutes and price is $6.99. Click here to purchase your own copy.

How Do You Family? #HowWeFamily #IC #ad

I have received information from the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post.

edited-4 - Copy

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted a big family with 4 children. Little did I know I would fall in love with a man with three little boys. Our “family” started immediately. Even though I did not give birth to those boys I still considered them my own as did my mother and father. I was thrilled to become a mother to two more children over the years. We are one big family no matter how we came together. To celebrate all families, the TYLENOL® brand created the #HowWeFamily program which believes that family is not about who you love but how. This is a wonderful message for all families. This world is made up of such a huge variety of “families”. It’s not about who you love, it’s about how you love.

Watch this video, Tylenol #HowWeFamily Video  and tell me about your family.

Everything You Need to Survive the Airport

SAMSUNG

Whether or not you are traveling for the holidays, or simply taking a vacation, you know that if you end up at the airport you will need some items to keep you busy. Between arriving early, layovers and delays in flights, you know that you can end up spending a lot of time in the airport. If you are going to be spending any time in the airport soon then there are a few things that you need to have on you.

  • Phone charger: This is probably the most important thing that you need to have on you when you are in the airport. Think about it, how many times have you been in an airport and your phone starts to lose power? There generally are never enough charging stations around, so if you don’t have your own charger then you may be out of luck. Keeping your phone charged means you can keep your entertainment options open.
  • Smartphone/Tablet: Having a phone charger means that you can keep your phone or tablet charged. This way you can keep streaming music, movies and even books on your device without having to worry about losing power. A quick note though, if you plan on watching movies or listening to music, then you should probably buy a good pair of headphones, like a pair of Bose, so you don’t disturb others around you.
  • Books and Magazines: If all your electronics fail, then you can always go to good old-fashioned books and magazines. These reading materials will keep you busy for hours, and are perfect for long layovers, or flights where you can’t sleep. You can bring these with you, or even buy them from the shops at the airport.

Traveling isn’t always the most pleasant experience. If you are going to be spending some time in airports, then come prepared with entertainment options in case you find yourself waiting around for an extended period of time.

Eco-Friendly Games for Kids

Unknown

The great outdoors, is as the name suggests, great. However it can also be cold, wet, miserable, too far, too steep, too flat and too everything. Kids playing is how they learn to get through life. What are we doing if our children only interact with technology instead of naturally occurring life?
We often think of getting a pet as a way of teaching children about life, however, the relationship between a pet and a person is different to the relationship with something that isn’t soft, furry and fond of attention. Some things are inanimate, they are closer to aliens than ourselves. Helping children to understand the complexities of nature can be a fulfilling activity. Planting a tree will not only offer opportunities to learn about the water cycle or photosynthesis but about stewardship and conservation.
By looking at our existing practices we can find ways to improve ecologically. Cooking is a great thing to do, get fresh ingredients, learn about the different types of seasonal fruits and vegetables (grow some) and make things to eat. Couldn’t be simpler. Don’t know how to shop green for your cooking? Here are some tips.
When you take a break from cooking, you could play simple eco-friendly games online. These games will use device resources minimally ensuring you don’t need to leave the phone or tablet while enjoying an hour of bingo for example. New game sites that are supposed to be launched from next year have games with emphasis on climate change and the eco-system. As concern continues to grow for our world it is great that companies are tackling issues and raising awareness in their own little ways.
Exploring gardens, taking walks, engaging in sports are the main activities that can be enjoyed without ecological harm. Large chain restaurants and business/leisure theme parks that dot the outskirts of cities are economical engines but ecological blights. It is the bind of current economic thinking, quantity not quality of growth.
Considering how Monopoly was invented to teach the perils of unlimited capitalism it is important that we teach our children how ecology fits into a larger picture of economy and action. These might seem like lofty or preachy goals but the current paradigm of majority opinion defends itself by insinuating snobbishness or pretension.
Arts and crafts are a traditional folk industry. Making things on a small independent scale is how our ancestors worked. Children are the same biologically as they forebears, there is therefore an argument that they should be allowed at least to explore living simple lives in harmony with their surroundings. Here is a look at how arts and craft can be beneficial to your kids.
Reaching to the stars is also possible, getting a telescope  can open up the skies to exploration. Tracking comets, satellites and even the ISS is feasible by combining technology with an observational experience. Make some games out of it. For those who want to supplant video games there is a genre of building games which act as simulators for cities and countries exposed to the risks of life in the world. Planning and a whole earth outlook can be fostered through using the right games.
