It’s that time of year again – Halloween!! And that means buying a costume for my daughter. It’s so hard for her to choose the right one. She wants them all. There are so many to choose from. I remember back in the day you went to the drug store and got one of those costumes in a box with the plastic mask and cheap, one sized fits most outfits. Or your mother made some god-awful homemade ones. Maybe that was just my mom.
When an email came to review a cat woman costume I signed up right away and didn’t even ask my daughter. I knew she would love it. It’s all black! Super easy, no fuss and guess what? She loved it!
We received the Child Deluxe Catwoman Costume size medium. It comes with a one piece outfit, a belt, gloves, a mask and a headband with cat ears. We put it on backwards so she did not like it at first but once we figured that out she loved the way it fit and felt. The size was true and fit perfect. The belt and gloves are nice quality. The mask is hard to keep on so you can actually see through it and the head band kept moving around. I may have to hot glue the ears to stay in place.
I’m interested in getting a similar costume in my size. You can see different styles at Costume Discounters in the Gettin’ Catty section.
So where did Catwoman originate? I remember her from Batman. I took a look her Character Bio on DC.Wikia.com and found some interesting information.
Selina Kyle is Catwoman, a costumed adventurer who’s been both super-hero and super-villain. Beginning her career as a thief and enemy to Batman, she later turned to crime-fighting and became part of the Batman Family. Despite her villainous nature, she works hard to protect the East End of Gotham City.
Early years
Selina Kyle’s early life was defined by tragedy. When she was just a girl, her brutalized mother Maria committed suicide and her violent father Brian drank himself to death soon after. Separated from her younger sister Maggie and remanded to the Sprang Hall Juvenile Detention Center, an abusive state home for orphaned or delinquent girls, she opted instead to take her chances on the streets of Gotham City.
Catwoman has had many nicknames in the past, some of them include: The Cat, Plundering Kitten, Princess of Plunder and Madame Moderne.
Catwoman occasionally uses a motorcycle for long-distance transportation, but generally prefers rooftop prowling for short distances.
Overall we are happy with “my” decision of CatWoman. My daughter likes it and I like that I didn’t have to shop at ten different stores. I know those days are coming soon though!
What is your child going to be for Halloween?
