So what can you do to keep your kids healthy? Let’s have a look below:

A Good Diet

Ok, so it may not be as easy as saying to your children, eat these vegetables and they eat them with no problem. It can sometimes be an impossible task to get them to eat any kind of veggie or fruit. Their minds tend to get pulled towards unhealthy, sugar-packed junk food. The health of your kids is partly determined by the diet they have, so make sure they have a varied diet. It’s never too early to start, have a look at some meal plans for 1 year olds to start.

A Proper Nights Sleep

Children need much more sleep compared to adults. Ne of the most important aspect of a child’1s health is their sleep. They are never going to be at their best if they don’t get the rest that they need. A sleep routine is essential, even if it is hard to get in place, to begin with. It’s definitely something that can be used to make sure they a decent night’s rest as well as teach them that routine is important

Getting Some Exercise

As adults we know that really we should be getting daily exercise, even if it is a quick walk. When you are kids you will naturally spend more time outside, but it is also something that needs to be taught to them. With technology the way it is now, more and more kids are being drawn to television and games rather than playing out. This needs to be counteracted and the importance of moving needs to be taught. You could teach them that they can play on their game after playing outside, or go for a family walk before you sit down to watch a family movie.

Encourage Health Habits That Stick

When it comes to your children, you need to make sure you are encouraging healthy habits right from the start. If they learn from an early age, they are much more likely to take these habits into adulthood. Of course, at the moment you are doing most of the work to look after their health but you can slowly start to teach them to be independent and take some responsibility for it. It will soon sink in and before you know it they will be choosing to eat fruit rather than chocolate.

There are of course other ways you can make sure you look after the health of your children, these are just four of the most important. Do you know any others? Please share them below.

Charcuterie Board Kits: A Fun and Easy Way to Entertain

I was recently asked to check out Platterful’s all in one box charcuterie kits. I decided to include this in my rock painting party. I decided to paint rocks instead of eggs this year!
To start the party off we opened up our kit. Detailed instructions were included to make this fun and easy.
A charcuterie board is a beautiful and delicious way to entertain guests. These boards are typically filled with cured meats, cheeses, and other accompaniments. Everything was included. Small cups for raisins and spoons for the jams and honey.
Here are some tips for creating a charcuterie board if you don’t get a kit: (though I highly recommend a kit from Platterful! So easy.)
1. Choose a variety of meats and cheeses. Charcuterie boards are typically filled with a variety of meats and cheeses, so it’s important to choose a variety that will appeal to your guests. Some popular options include prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, cheddar, mozzarella, and goat cheese.
2. Add some crackers and fruits. Crackers and fruits are a great way to add some variety to your charcuterie board. Some popular options include wheat crackers, celery sticks, grapes, and apples.
3. Don’t forget the condiments! Condiments like mustard, honey, and jam can add a touch of sweetness and spice to your charcuterie board.
4. Arrange the meats and cheeses in a visually appealing way. The way you arrange the meats and cheeses on your charcuterie board will make a big difference in its overall look. Try to create a variety of textures and colors, and make sure to leave some empty space on the board so that your guests can easily reach the food.
At Platterful we deliver curated charcuterie boards right to our customer’s doorsteps via our first of its kind all-in-one kit, complete with instructional and educational content, which is what really sets us apart. We offer a subscription so that every month customers get all new meats, cheeses and accompaniments complete with new educational material on how to assemble the perfect board every time.
Here are some pics of our rocks.

Benefits of treating alcohol addiction

Treating alcohol addiction can have many benefits for individuals who struggle with this condition. Some of the key benefits include:

Improved physical health

The first benefit, and most important of treating alcohol addiction is improved physical health, which is an important and significant outcome of recovery. Long-term alcohol abuse can cause a range of physical health problems, including liver disease, heart disease, cancer, and other chronic conditions.

Alcohol is toxic to the body, and over time, excessive alcohol consumption can cause damage to organs and tissues. For example, the liver is responsible for processing alcohol and removing toxins from the body. Chronic alcohol use can damage the liver, leading to inflammation, scarring, and even liver failure.

Treating alcohol addiction can help to improve physical health by reducing the risk of these health problems and improving overall well-being. When individuals stop drinking, their bodies are able to begin repairing the damage caused by alcohol use. This can lead to improvements in liver function, cardiovascular health, immune function, and other areas of physical health.

In addition, recovery from alcohol addiction often involves adopting a healthier lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and getting enough sleep. These lifestyle changes can further improve physical health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases and other health problems.

Improved physical health can also have a positive impact on mental health and overall well-being. When individuals feel physically healthy, they may have more energy, feel more positive, and have a greater sense of well-being. This can help to support recovery and reduce the risk of relapse.

In summary, improved physical health is a key benefit of treating alcohol addiction and can lead to a range of positive outcomes, including a reduced risk of chronic disease, improved overall well-being, and a lower risk of relapse.

Better mental health

The second benefit of treating alcohol addiction is improved mental health. Alcohol addiction can have a significant impact on mental health, leading to a range of problems, including depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

Alcohol is a depressant, which means that it can slow down the central nervous system and lead to feelings of relaxation and euphoria. However, over time, alcohol can also lead to negative effects on mental health, including mood swings, irritability, and anxiety.

Treating alcohol addiction can help to improve mental health by reducing the negative effects of alcohol use and addressing any underlying mental health issues that may be contributing to addiction. For example, many individuals with alcohol addiction also struggle with depression or anxiety, and addressing these underlying issues can be an important part of recovery.

Additionally, recovery from alcohol addiction often involves developing healthy coping skills and strategies for managing stress and other triggers that may contribute to alcohol use. These skills can help to improve mental health by reducing the impact of stress and other negative emotions on overall well-being.

Improved mental health can have many benefits for individuals in recovery, including improved relationships, increased motivation, and a greater sense of well-being. It can also help to reduce the risk of relapse by providing individuals with the tools and strategies they need to manage negative emotions and triggers in a healthy and effective way.

In summary, improved mental health is a key benefit of treating alcohol addiction and can lead to a range of positive outcomes, including improved relationships, increased motivation, and a lower risk of relapse.

Improved relationships

Alcohol addiction can strain relationships with friends, family members, and romantic partners. Treating alcohol addiction can help to improve relationships by reducing conflict, improving communication, and increasing trust.

Better work and school performance

Alcohol addiction can also have negative effects on work and school performance, including absenteeism, poor grades, and reduced productivity. Treating alcohol addiction can help to improve performance by reducing these negative effects and improving focus and motivation.

Increased financial stability

Alcohol addiction can be expensive, and individuals with this condition may struggle with financial instability as a result of their addiction. Treating alcohol addiction can help to improve financial stability by reducing the cost of alcohol use and increasing the ability to work and earn income.

Improved quality of life

Treating alcohol addiction can lead to an overall improvement in quality of life by reducing the negative effects of addiction and increasing well-being in all areas of life.

Overall, treating alcohol addiction can have many benefits for individuals who struggle with this condition and can help to improve physical health, mental health, relationships, work and school performance, financial stability, and overall quality of life.

Encourage Yourself And Your Family To Try New Meals With These Three Tips

What we eat matters so much in this life. It’s not just a case of giving ourselves energy with the right meals, it’s also a case of keeping our mental health in the right place, too. In an ideal world, we will have foods that taste amazing while giving us everything we need in order to be healthy. For some, this world exists and it happens every single day. For the majority of people, however, it can be quite a tedious and annoying thing to work out.

If you have a family to look after, it can be doubly frustrating as you have kids to feed. If they are fussy eaters or simply do not like what you are presenting them, things can get even more frustrating. Life is already hard enough as it is, so the idea of introducing new foods into your life might seem a bit pointless. The good thing is that there are plenty of things we can do in order to encourage ourselves to try new foods. Even the fastest of eaters can find something they love if they put their mind to it. Here are just a few ideas of what can be done to achieve this:

Look For New, Amazing Recipes All The Time

One of the best things about cooking and creating meals is that there is a seemingly endless number of options. The more you look for options, the more you will find. You might think that there will be nothing out there that you will like or that your family will like, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s just a case of putting in the time and effort and browsing all of the potentials out there. You may stumble upon something like an oven baked ribs recipe that sounds absolutely gorgeous to everyone. This could then lead to something else that the entire family would enjoy. Don’t just stop there, make sure you continue looking for new and amazing recipes. There are literally tens of thousands of different meals out there, so the chances are that you will never get bored in your pursuit.

Think About The Long Term Effects Of Your Diets

If your current diet needs a little work, perhaps think about how things will look in a few years’ time. It’s very easy to think about the next few weeks or what will happen in the next month, but we never really think about five years’ time, for instance. If you really want to motivate yourself and your family regarding your nutrition, perhaps you should think about the long-term aspects and effects that a bad diet can have.

Travel Around The World Little More And Discover New Cultures

If you have the funds and the time to do something like this, then it’s completely worth it. The more you see of the world, the more cultures you discover. Within these cultures, you’ll see all kinds of different foods and meal types. They’ll introduce you to amazing dishes and you might fall in love with all kinds of different styles.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: What You Need to Know

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that focuses on helping people change unhelpful or harmful behaviors and thought patterns. DBT has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, and borderline personality disorder.

Dialectical behavioral therapy is based on the belief that people are capable of change and that positive change is possible even in the most difficult situations. The goal of DBT is to help people develop coping skills and strategies to deal with life’s challenges in a more positive and productive way.

Dialectical behavioral therapy treatment usually consists of weekly individual therapy sessions and group skills training sessions. In addition, patients are encouraged to practice using the skills they learn in between sessions.

What Does DBT Involve?

The focus of DBT is on changing negative thoughts and behaviors into positive ones. To do this, patients are taught four groups of skills:

Mindfulness: Learning to be present at the moment and nonjudgmental about one’s thoughts and experiences

Interpersonal effectiveness: Learning how to communicate effectively, set boundaries, and achieve personal goals

Distress tolerance: Learning how to cope with difficult emotions and situations without making them worse

Emotion regulation: Learning how to manage emotions in a healthy way

Patients typically attend weekly individual therapy sessions as well as group skills training sessions. In addition, patients are encouraged to practice using the skills they learn in between sessions. The ultimate goal is for patients to be able to apply the skills they’ve learned in order to cope with life’s challenges in a more positive and productive way.

The Many Benefits of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Here are seven benefits of this evidence-based treatment:

Dialectical behavioral therapy Teaches Skills to Help Manage Difficult Emotions

One of the core components of DBT is teaching skills to help people better manage difficult emotions. This is done through weekly skills training groups, which cover topics such as mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Over time, people who participate in DBT skills training groups learn how to better deal with intense emotions, navigate difficult situations, and manage impulsivity.

DBT Can Help Reduce Suicidal Behavior

DBT has been shown to be an effective treatment for reducing suicidal behavior in people with a borderline personality disorder. In one study, participants who received DBT were half as likely to attempt suicide as those who did not receive DBT. Additionally, the participants who received DBT were more likely to experience a decrease in suicidal thoughts and plans than those who did not receive DBT.

DBT Can Help Treat Eating Disorders

Dialectical behavioral therapy has also been found to be an effective treatment for eating disorders such as bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. In one study of women with bulimia nervosa, those who received DBT were more likely to reduce bingeing and purging behavior than those who received another type of therapy. In another study of people with binge eating disorder, those who received DBT were more likely to reduce binge eating than those who did not receive any treatment at all.

If you’re struggling to cope with difficult emotions or situations, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) may be worth considering. DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions. With DBT, you’ll learn essential skills like mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation. These skills can help you make positive changes in your thoughts and behaviors so that you can better manage life’s challenges.
