Beyond Hope’s Valley is the third in the Big Sky Novels by Tricia Goyer. I’ve read the second, Along Wooded Paths and now the third.
Let me just say I love Trica Goyer! She is a wonderful writer that really makes the reader feel like they are inside the story, right there beside the characters.
I’ve mentioned before that I enjoy the Amish stories and I still do. They are a light refreshing read to all the murder mysteries I used to read. I till read one of those once in a while, but I enjoy a book that makes me feel good, has a good story and makes me want to keep on reading!
Beyond Hope’s Valley is about a young Amish girl, Marianna, who had been in Montana with her family, now returns home to Indiana to tend to her brother and his girlfriend as they await the arrival of their child. She is also returning with her first love, Aaron and is planning on marrying him. But she found a new way to find God and Aaron and the rest of the community does not like her new way of thinking. Marianna also misses her new friend Ben and her family in Montana. While home she sees a different side to Aaron and finds out the truth about her brother’s child.
I liked the second book better, but am anxious to read the first book! If you are looking for a new author or something new and different, give these books a try! I did and don’t regret it!
From the book:
Beyond Hope’s Valley – Book Three in the Big Sky series After an extended stay in Montana, where Amish traditions are different than in her home state, Marianna Sommer returns to Indiana for two reasons, first to help her brother and his girlfriend prepare for a baby and their wedding. Second, to plan her own wedding to Aaron Zook — a marriage she’s been dreaming about ever since childhood. And yet, although she had missed the idyllic farms and families of her upbringing, Marianna is surprised that Indiana is somehow making her long now for Montana.
As months pass, secrets that were hidden in winter’s frozen grasp thaw and take on a life of their own. The truths about a child, about a past relationship, and about God’s plans are being revealed. Walking through a valley of questions, Marianna must hold on to hope as she decides where and with whom her heart truly belongs.
