So today is my children’s last day of school. It’s bittersweet. I will enjoy not waking up so early and having them around. However I’m not looking forward to the “I’m bored” phrase that will be said may times over the next two months. I do have an I’m bored list that will be provided to that whine…
Last summer the list worked on occasion. This year I almost need two lists. One for my six year old daughter and one for my 13 year old
Don’t get me wrong, I do have some fun stuff planned but I can’t plan something for everyday. My daughter who always has to have someone to play with is just going to have to get creative!!
Summer movies will be a big it this summer. As well as free bowling. Just go to Kidsbowlfree.com and sign your little ones up!!
I’m hoping to do some geocaching this summer too. Might be too hot but we will try.
And then there’s the pool and the beach!

My son’s last day of school was a couple weeks ago, and I have been getting “I’m bored” a lot lately (despite there are a lot of things that can keep him occupied). ~lol~ Great list!
We have already gone mini golfing, go-carting, to see Maleficent, plus the children are all participating in the summer reading program at the library….and we plan to take advantage of $1 movies on Wednesday mornings.
Next week we plan to go to a farm that uses horses instead of tractors, so that will be cool.
Other than that, I don’t know what else we’ll do. Visit local playgrounds as the children have seen a couple on my paper route they want to play at.
This summer it’s all about our daughter since it will be her last summer at home before she goes off to college (cry). This month it’s all about finding stuff for her dorm room and taking her to the campus to get registered for classes and such. Of course we’ll fit lots of fun things in there too 😉
This is a great list of things to do to beat summer boredom. We spent most of the summer outdoors when I was a kid. We didn’t get bored.
I’ll try to refer to this when we’re having a bored day this summer.
We’re going to Disneyland in a few weeks and we’re going on our annual summer road trip, so that’s about all the fun we’re having this summer.
Yes, keeping them busy is a must! The boychild starts summer camp tomorrow.
Wow! That’s an amazing list! We have a few roadtrips planned to the lake and to Cape Cod!
We have Cub Scout Day Camp, VBS, Girl Scout Day Camp, Cub Scout Resident Camp, Airfest and finally a summer vacation in August. I’m looking forward to July being a little more restful than June.
We are almost through our crazy month! We have 2 more days of soccer camp and 4 more days of Girl Scout Day Camp left!
My son already went to summer camp last week and had a blast. It was tough on me and my husband since it was the first time he’s ever spent more than one night away from both of us. So far I haven’t heard “I’m bored”, but I now it’s bound to happen… I will refer to this list!
Love that list. We have been on our summer trip for several weeks now, but it definitely hasn’t felt like summer in some of our stops.
That is a great list. We like to go to our neighborhood pool a lot. Its important to have a lot of options though.

My little one has been loving to help cook in the kitchen so making a menu would be a fun job! Such a great collection. I’ll be referencing this when the gripes start coming about having nothing to do.
