The Haven is the second in Suzanne Woods Fischer series Stoney Ridge Seasons. The first book in this series is The Keeeper. I loved both books and can’t wait for the third one – The Lesson!
In the The Keeper, Sadie is the shy middle daughter that can never say what she wants to the boys she likes, Gideon Smucker. In The Haven, Sadie Lapp comes back from spending the winter away from her family and friends and has gained a little more confidence. But she is faced with decisions. Sadie thought she knew who her true love was, Gideon Smucker. But when Will Stoltz comes to help out on the farm and Sadie is unsure.
Suzanne Woods Fisher’s books are a delight to read! I could read her books over and over. I love the relationship triangles she puts into her books.
Review from the website:
When Sadie Lapp steps off the bus in Stoney Ridge after being in Ohio for the winter, she is faced with a decision–one that goes against her very essence. Yet it’s the only way she can think of to protect a loved one.
Schoolteacher Gideon Smucker has been crazy about Sadie since boyhood. But his response to her surprising decision undermines his own reputation–and his relationship with Sadie.
College student Will Stoltz is spending the spring at the Lapp farm as a guard for a pair of nesting Peregrine Falcons–courtesy of the Lancaster County Game Warden. Will needs to get his life back on track, but his growing friendship with Sadie threatens his plans.
The lives of these three individuals intertwine, and then unravel as unexpected twists create ripples through the town of Stoney Ridge . . . and through Sadie’s heart.

Hi Anne!
Thanks for your thoughtful write-up of “Haven” and for being a part of the blog tour. What a lovely comment to read…that you could read my books over and over. Ah! Music to an author’s ears! Hope you’ll be on the tour for “Lesson”–coming up in a few months.
Warmly, Suzanne
